ZaporIzhstal JSC produces over 600 types and sizes of cold roll-formed sections having intricate cross-sectional shape that cannot be produced through hot rolling or stamping. Cold roll— formed sections differ from the hot-rolled and stamped ones of similar size and application by optimum distribution of steel throughout the section resulting in their higher operating characteristics allowing to save up to 20 % of steel with considerably lower labor input for production of the end product. Economic efficiency of roll-formed sections’ application depends on the reduction of the structures’ weight, reduction of labor input involved in their production, increase of strength, life durability and reduction of maintenance costs. Efforts are consistently made at the Works towards development and mastering of production of new types of cold roll-formed sections on customers’ orders.
