Rinat Akhmetov Sends UAH300 Million to Fight Against Coronavirus

Rinat Akhmetov sends 300 million hryvnias to fight COVID-19.

To do this, he combined all the resources – the Charity Fund, DTEK and Metinvest, FC Shakhtar and all SCM assets – to help Ukraine.

“Coronavirus is a disaster that the modern world has encountered on such a scale, probably for the first time. I’m absolutely sure that in this situation everyone should think how exactly he can help Ukraine and Ukrainians, ” Rinat Akhmetov said.

By the personal decision of the Founder, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation will purchase another 300 thousand rapid tests for coronavirus for the whole country. In the shortest possible time they will be transferred to the Stabilization Fund, initiated by the President of Ukraine. In addition, at least 200 ventilation devices needed to save lives, and other equipment will be additionally purchased.

“We will not stand aside – we helped, we help and we will help. In cooperation with the Ministry of Health, we will do everything to prevent an epidemic of coronavirus in the cities of our presence and throughout the country. Only by combining our efforts in the face of danger, can we make sure that Ukraine copes with all the challenges that it faces, ” – Rinat Akhmetov emphasized.

The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation is always the first to help Ukraine. When the whole world and our country were faced with the threat of the spread of coronavirus, by the personal decision of the Founder, the Foundation was the first in the country to respond to the danger of the epidemic.

Earlier, by personal decision of Rinat Akhmetov, the Ministry of Health had already purchased and transferred to the Ministry of Health equipment for the effective treatment of coronavirus complications, high-quality Swedish-made ventilation apparatus (IVL) SERVO-I UNIVERSAL and SERVO AIR and other equipment.

The Foundation has also purchased personal protective equipment for Ukrainian doctors: a unique insulating mobile box for transporting infectious patients EgoZlin biobag EBV, a protective biological and anti-chemical suit with an EOBO-20 EgoZlin filter and ventilation unit, protective disposable overalls from chemicals, infrared thermometers with a laser pointer, protective masks, glasses.

In addition, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation acquires coronavirus rapid test analyzers complete with test cartridges for them, as well as 20,000 rapid tests.

Another 22 ventilator breathing systems were installed in neonatal ambulances transferred by the Foundation to all regions of the country under the project “200 ambulances for Ukraine”.
