PJSC “Zaporizhstal” purchased medical equipment and furniture for Zaporizhzhia Children’s Hospital No.1

New beds, bedside tables and changing tables have already been placed in one of the departments of Children’s City Hospital No. 1, which is located in the Kosmicheskiy microdistrict. For a year in this medical institution, more than five thousand small patients has received treatment and now their stay within the walls of the hospital will become more comfortable.

New furniture and equipment for the hospital was purchased by PJSC “Zaporizhstal”.

– The management of the Steel Works decided to make the gift to the hospital and handed over the medical equipment and furniture that they needed for the amount of UAH 100 000, – said Igor Chumachenko, Head of Legal department of the trade union committee of PJSC “Zaporizhstal”. – I am sure that this assistance will allow the hospital to work better and children will recover faster.

Two-year-old Misha and three-year-old Masha, who, together with their mother, are in the ward for 7 days, have already experienced the softness of the new beds.

– Misha has pneumonia, which is why we are being treated slowly, but we are already being let out to the street, and we are recuperating,” – said Lidia Nadtochiy, mother. “Children sleep on new beds and are happy. Despite the fact that these are hospital beds, they are very comfortable and children feel themselves like at home – they fall asleep quickly and sleep slumber!

In addition, personally from the family of General Director of PJSC “Zaporizhstal” Rostyslav Shurma, doctors received two TV sets as gifts for children, of which parents refused. Now three-year old kids can brighten up their stay in the hospital with periodic views of cartoons.

The Steel Works will always identify the interests of children as a priority in providing any assistance. Over the past three years, the Steel Works has invested more than UAH 7.5 million in hospitals in Zaporizhzhia and the region. The funds were transferred to help in repair and equipment purchase in about 20 medical institutions.
