A new inventory has appeared in Zaporizhzhia Children and Youth School of FC “Metallurg”. The Gates into the Future school project was one of the winners of “We are the City” competition for social initiatives.
Thanks to a grant of 85 thousand UAH the management of the school bought 70 footballs, 2 sets of sports uniforms for each player, 4 sets of football nets, goalkeeper gloves. Now, three hundred schoolchildren will be able to train even more effectively.

Children have everything they need for training and games. Nowadays the championship of Ukraine is going. We have a new team “Yu-19”, which has already played three games. Younger boys play in the category of 15-18 years. The championship of Ukraine of the first group will last until November.

One interesting fact about this school. Taras Stepanenko, who now plays for Shakhtar football team and defends the colors of National Team of Ukraine graduated from this school. The school has a rich history, but nowadays conditions of material base is very outdated. Today, not only at the level of the Zaporizhstal Steel Works, we have paid attention to the development of this school. It currently has the status of a non-governmental organization, but is receiving necessary funding. We have created a parliamentary group to transform the public organization into a communal institution of the regional council, there are many paper actions that will allow in the future to increase funding for children to be able to participate in competitions and attend meetings.
