«Sports Heritage» festival was held under support of the social initiatives contest «We are the City». The event gathered athletes from all over the region to demonstrate various sports cultures as fashion trends of today’s youth.
The competitions in the framework of the festival were held on the basis of the Zaporozhye specialized boarding school of sports profile, which initiated the event.
The school is participating in the competition not for the first year. Last year, “We are the city” gave the opportunity to equip an educational institution with a volleyball court. And this year, the school bought for grant money a special wrestling mat for classes and competitions.
— It is nice that sports are back in fashion at our schools. The traditions are returning, on which generations of people with an iron will, endurance, team spirit have grown, ” said the head of the youth organization of PJSC “Zaporizhstal ” Sergey Ilchenko. – A lot of sporting events take place in Zaporizhzhia. The younger generation participates in them. I am sure that due to the persistence of these guys Zaporozhye will develop. Zaporizhstal Works supported and will support such projects and the desire of young people to engage in physical culture in our city.
