By the Day of Metallurgical and Mining Industry workers of Ukraine, Zaporozhye enterprises of the Metinvest Group – Zaporizhstal, Zaporozhkoks, Zaporozhogneupor and Zaporozhye Foundry and Mechanical Plant organized a large-scale celebration for citizens and visitors of the city.
On July 14 at the cascade of fountains “Raduga” in Zaporozhye, a large-scale celebration of the Day of the Metallurgist and Miner took place. On the main concert square of Zaporozhye worked interactive locations for families such as master classes, attractions, quests, competitions and food courts with free meals for children, karaoke with Igor Kondratyuk and a concert with bands A.R.M.I.A and Bad Boys Blue.
The parade of labor dynasties of Zaporozhye enterprises became a bright event of the city holiday.14 Dynasties, whose total work experience at the enterprises from 70 to 200 years, together carried a 15-meter Ukrainian towel as a symbol of reliability and strength of metallurgist profession.
Guests of the holiday were welcomed by the General Director of Zaporizhstal, Rostyslav Shurma:
“Today is a holiday for strong and strong-willed people. Metallurgy is the business of whole life for those who have taken upon themselves the great responsibility – to keep on their shoulders the economy. Thanks to their professionalism, everyday work, strength of spirit and courage today there is a future for Ukrainian metallurgy and for Ukrainian economy.
On the eve of the holiday, Zaporizhstal carried out meetings in which 200 workers were awarded with certificates, orders, valuable gifts and prizes. Two workers of Zaporizhstal – agglomerate worker Igor Kovtunov and metal heater Vyacheslav Safonov were awarded the highest award of the company – Gold Star of Metinvest and were awarded with a bonus 100 thousand hryvnia each. The golden stars of Metinvest are received by the best employees, who showed an outstanding level of professionalism and high results in the work, which led to significant achievements for the enterprise and company. Ceremonial meetings and a cultural program were organized and material assistance was paid for veterans of the enterprise.
