In the first quarter of 2013, “Zaporizhstal” II&SW increased its production of all kinds as compared with the first quarter of 2012. Volumes of iron production in the 1st quarter of 2013, grew for 1.7%, steel — for 5.8%, rolled stock — for 8.5%.

In March, 2013, it was produced 277.9 thousand tons of iron, 328.7 thousand tons of steel, 278.8 thousand tons of roll stock. Minor reduction of the iron production scale in March, 2013, as compared with the results of March, 2012, (for 1.8%), is due to the scheduled repair works in the Blast Furnace Shop of the Works.

In steel making production field, due to usage of performance efficiency and reducing of the operation losses, in March, 2013, the overall consumption of metal charge made up 1111 kg/t, that became one of the key factors for reducing the production cost of one ton of steel for 18.8%, in comparison to March, 2012 (UAH 3,246 per t versus UAH 3997.53 per t).
