In the middle of May the representatives of certification center — the company “TUF ZUD Ukraine” — made an assessment of distribution area and boundaries of Energy Management System (EMS) at “Zaporizhstal” JSC. During the audit, specialists of the company have given positive evaluation of construction and adoption of Energy Management System at the plant. As a result, the plant was given international certificate, which proves compliance of EMS at “Zaporizhstal” JSC according the standard ISO 50001.
Auditors of “TUF ZUD Ukraine” noticed the individual approach of “Zaporizhstal” JSC in interpretation of the energy saving issues. One may see positive tendency to permanent improvement of Energy Efficiency. During the first quarter 2013, Iron and steel works “Zaporizhstal” reduced energy output ratio of manufactured production for 9,8 % with the simultaneous growth of production. The energy output ratio during the first quarter 2013 is 21,9 gigajoules per tonne versus 24,27 gigajoules per tonne during the same period of 2012.
Implementation of using coke gas in slabing shop, in April 2013 made it possible to reduce consumption of natural gas more than in three times (actual number is 275 thou.m3 against planned number, which is 833 thou.m3).
