The analysis of job-related accidents at the enterprises of the mining and metals production sector of Ukraine for 2010 confirms that Zaporizhstal JSC is still one of the best enterprises of the branch. In many respects that is due to the competition on labour safety for the title “The Best Collective on Labour Safety” under the motto “For Safe Work and High Culture of Production”. It has been taking place at the Works for three years now. Recently the commission summed up its work on labour safety for 2010 and assigned the competition winners.
In the first group of shops the winner became the collective of the Metallurgical Furnace Repair Shop. In 2010 it fulfilled 6 capital and more than 100 running repairs in different subdivisions of the Works. Thus it has worked 687 calendar days without a single registration of job-related accidents.
In the second group the first place was awarded to the collective of slabbing mill shop. When fulfilling the production program it worked 617 calendar days without a single registration of job-related accidents.
In the third group the collective of the Metallurgical Equipment Repair Shop No.2 became the winner. Last year its workers accomplished 18 major repairs and 542 running repairs of crane equipment, pipelines, ventilating systems in the shops of Zaporizhstal JSC. Thus it worked 527 calendar days without a single registration of job-related accidents.
In the fourth group the first place was won by the collective of the 812 calendar days without a single registration of job-related accidents.
In the fifth group the collective of the Consumer Goods Shop was announced the best. In a short period of time it modernized the shop equipment and mastered the production of new products. Thus it worked 958 calendar days without a single registration of job-related accidents.
According to competition regulations monetary awards at a total sum of 25 thousand UAH will be paid to all the winners.
