PJSC «Zaporizhstal» has received the notice from the State monopolist JSC “Zaporozhyeo-blenergo” about stopping of electricity supply to the Steel Works within the limits of existing contracts, because of infringement of obligatory payment schedule, which have originated at the Steel Works because of the State debts to PJSC «Zaporizhstal» on compensation of added value tax in the amount of more than 822 million UAH. The debt of the PJSC «Zaporizhstal» to JSC “Zaporozhyeoblenergo” composes around 140 million UAH.
Rostislav Shurma, CEO of the PJSC «Zaporizhstal» has stated the following on this matter:
«Currently the collective of the Steel Works is in situation of constant pressure from the side of the State government bodies and the State monopolists. The only reason of our debt for electric power is the debt of the State government bodies on refunding of VAT to the Steel Works, which six times exceeds the amount of the debt of the «Zaporizhstal» for electric power, but official establishment does not excite it. They are not excited with serious consequences of this decision – stoppage of the enterprise and loss of work for thousands of people involved in production, ensuing consequences of social shocks and among other things threat of technogenic failures because of sudden stop of production at the moment of tripping the electric power supply. On my part, I personally guarantee: the Steel Works will effect repayment of debts for the electric pow-er this very day as soon as the State will refund VAT, and the problem cannot be resolved in a different way. We demand the State to return our earned means – debt on VAT compensation». PJSC «Zaporizhstal» is one of the largest taxpayers of Ukraine and of the Zaporozhye region.
PJSC «Zaporizhstal» following the results of 2014, has transferred to budgets of all levels more than 1,4 billion UAH, and for 10 months of 2015 – 2,1 billion UAH.
