PJSC “Zaporizhstal”, within the framework of the large scale project on ecological modernization of sinter plant, proceeded to active phase of basic gas-cleaning equipment installation – bag filters with pulse regeneration BFPR-6000 – on sinter machines № 3-4. Manufacture and supply of filters is carried out by the Ukrainian largest producer of gas-cleaning equipment – Berdichev machine-building plant “Progress”. Total amount of investments in gas-cleaning construction of sinter machines № 3-6 comes to UAH 600 million.
Exhaust gases and aspiration emission filtration with the help of bag filters is the most efficient way of fine dust trapping. In-process, gases pass through the special filter, made from fabric of European manufacturers – Poland and Germany (Kaiser, BWF Envirotec).Filter is a fabric sleeve with a metal wire frame inside that provides structural strength. Operation principle of a new gas-cleaning equipment is multistage cleaning of exhaust gases: gas is cleaned first in one bag filter, then it goes to adsorber, where sulfur dioxide (SО2) cleaning is going on – up to 400 mg/m3, then it goes to the second bag filter and this provides air cleaning from reacted reagent and dust – up to 50 mg/m3. In this case, trapped iron-containing dust from bag filters goes back to sintering production.
Building of gas cleaning system for sintering production is carried out in accordance with technological enterprise modernization strategy of Metinvest Group.
At this stage of works, steel construction assembling, bag filters installation (BFPR – 6000) will be made, as well as erection of about 200 tons of equipment and 300 tons of steel constructions. After installing filters BFPR – 6000 the Works will start installing filters of the second stage cleaning BFPR – 4500.
