PJSC “Zaporizhstal” is implementing a complex program, directed at increasing production efficiency and reducing expenses. According to the results of 2015, it helped the Integrated Works to reduce expenses by over UAH 950 million.
In particular, it was possible to reduce consumption of natural gas and purchased scrap iron due to increase of specific consumption of hot metal in steel industry. Economic effect surpassed UAH 100 million. Iron-bearing tailings were recycled due to commissioning and efficient operation of the slag processing complex “AMKOM”; it allowed to reduce consumption of iron ore and limestone in metallurgical production. Economic effect surpassed UAH 83 million.
“Under the conditions of metal prices collapse and increase of production costs because of high inflation rate inside the country, the only way to survive the present crisis is increasing operating efficiency,” stated the Chief Executive Officer of PJSC “Zaporizhstal” Rostyslav Shurma.
Motivational program of the system for submitting suggestions is active at the Integrated Works, encouraging the employees’ initiatives on improving production processes. In 2015, employees of the Integrated Works submitted and implemented 2213 suggestions aimed at increasing efficiency and safety of technological processes and reducing expenses. In 2015, the system for submitting suggestions ensured confirmed economic effect of about UAH 129 million.
