Within the framework of the social initiatives contest “We Are the City”, “Zaporizhstal” Integrated Iron and Steel Works granted 50 thousand UAH for implementation of the social project “Zaporizhzhya through Children’s Eyes”, aimed at support and development of cultural and creative initiatives of children.
Organizing committee with support from the Department of Culture and Arts of Zaporizhzhya city council created a website of Zaporizhzhya talents with online polls – Love.in.zp.ua, where children can post their works under one of the six arts categories: painting, drawing, sculpture, embroidery, handmade, and prose & poetry.
The contest will last till the end of the year and every child in Zaporizhzhya can participate in it. Based on the results of online polls and conclusions of the judges, the best creative works will be chosen to be published in the book. Part of the book copies will be given to the contest winners, the rest of the copies will be for sale. Organizing committee plans, that funds, derived from book sales, will make the contest self-financing, thus allowing to hold it annually on the regular basis.
“As a result of the contest, participants will gain recognition, and thousands of children from the audience will get motivated for creative development, improvement and progress”, pointed out the head of the project “Zaporizhzhya through Children’s Eyes” Victoriya Chikalova.
Let us remind, that total financing of the social initiatives contest “We Are the City”, organized by “Zaporizhstal” Integrated Iron and Steel Works, amounted to 700 thousand UAH. The contest was held in Zaporizhzhya as well as in other cities with the companies of Metinvest Group, as it is a part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme.
