More than 500 employees of JSC “Zaporizhstal”, PJSC “Zaporozhogneupor” and PJSC “Zaporozhkoks”, as well as inhabitants of Zaporozhye have organised and have realized the city subbotnik in different districts of the city – in the park named after Kirov, in territory of boarding school “Oberig”, on house land plots of veterans of these enterprises.
During the subbotnik, employees of the enterprises and inhabitants have made cutting-off and heading-off the trees, have cleaned territory – have cleared the park named after Kirov from the felled trees and dead wood, have taken out around 90 tons of domestic garbage, dead limbs and foliage. During the current year, such action is carried out in territory of the park named after Kirov for the second time – in the springtime the volunteers already cleared territory of the park from rubbish, dead limbs and felled tree stems. After completion of the event, its participants have accepted the appeal to the city authori-ties that is to support the initiative on carrying out of the city subbotniks for pollution control and house-keeping. 400 participants of the event signed the appeal.
«We expect that we will set a rhythm to all Zaporozhye and its inhabitants – to keep our favourite resting places clean and tidy. We hope very much that the city authorities will pay attention how far Zaporozhye recently has wallowed in rubbish» – pointed out Sergey Ilchenko, the leader of a youth wing of JSC “Zaporizhstal” – «If to take, for instance, the park named after Kirov – then the matter-of-fact in the spring we have established here an order, and only 5 months have passed and people again afraid to visit the park – dirt, heaps of rubbish, not cut off trees, broken branches and tree-trunks. We address to the city authorities with the view to them at least to take care of this cleanliness and order of city resting places which became clean after such volunteering actions».
Along with that, participants of the subbotnik have cleaned and arranged territory near the boarding school “Oberig”. During few hours volunteers have cleared territory from foliage, have dug up the earth in front gardens, have arrange flowerbed, have landed trees and bushes, have put benches and have painted a fence round the establishment.
Along with it, on the threshold of winter frosts the employees of the enterprises have helped veterans – have put things in order on house land plots where veterans live – have taken away leaves, have dug up the sites and have cleared leaching cesspools.
