Well coordinated and stable work of a modern enterprise greatly depends on the personnel training level. The top management of the Works always considered this question of high importance and significance. There are training and production facilities for high-skill training of the employees. The personnel training department has a training license. For more effective training modern electronic devices are used: a multimedia projector, video cameras, video- and audio tape recorders, flipcharts, etc. The information technologies class is equipped with PCs with Internet access.

Annually, according to the administrative order “About the training plan and qualilification upgrading of the personnel”, a training program, as well as the number of people to be trained, seminar schedules, are approved. Apart from that the category of personnel sent for training to training centers is also determined, the training budget is allotted and qualified committees are created. And since 20 000 metallurgists work on our enterprise, and each of them needs to upgrade his qualification level not less frequently than once in 5 years, personnel training is conducted all-year-round.

Candidates of sciences, managers, professionals and specialists of the Works who were trained according to the educational minimum program at the personnel training department and certified in the field of labor protection have been invited as teachers of theory.

The third week of September is noted by organizing a course-unit form of training of several groups. 18 employees of the Works — foremen and senior foremen of electric equipment maintenance upgraded their qualification at a productive-economic seminar. The main attention of teachers who lectured at this seminar, was devoted to the transfer of the whole complex of knowledge regarding safe operation of electric equipment, preparation and arrangement of repair of electric equipment according to the demands of the norms and safety rules, etc., which are necessary for middle managers.

Chiefs of the central electro-technical laboratories E. F. Khaber, A. A. Derkach, head of the bureau of chief power engineer’s department E. N. Demenko, and other specialists of the Works taught at this seminar.

A seminar for a group of perspective reserve managers was also conducted. Managers and specialists of marketing and foreign economic activity department, technical control department, chief power engineer’s department, department of current repair and supervision of equipment operation were invited. The psychologists of the sociological studies laboratory carried out a training course on the development of leader qualities of the seminar members, which detected high leadership potential of the future managers.

High requirements on labour safety in the conditions of a metallurgical plant have become the reason for organizing a course on upgrading the workers’ qualification.

32 employees of the Works were trained as repair fitters, electric gas welders and hookers at a training course “Fitters on rigging and load-handling devices” and 19 workers of different specialities were trained at a course “Hookers”.
