“Zaporizhstal” after overhaul gave a production capacity of a blast furnace No. 5 (BF-5). The repair cost is about 75 million UAH.
During the overhaul, work was performed aimed at improving the reliability of the metallurgical unit. The replacement of bell-less top-charging gears, release valve, gate charge, sinter screening unit. Repair and replacement of metal structures of the working areas. The replacement of the main runner No.1 and jetting cleaning of pipelines gas treatment units were performed, set new closing mechanisms for iron tap-holes, performed audit of electrical and power equipment.
The general contractor for the abovementioned repair was Metinvest-Promservice.
After blowing up, BF-5 was brought to its design capacity of 2900 tons of cast iron per day.
Note, that BF-5 was stopped for overhaul on March 19 for 16 days. With the completion of the overhaul, the blast furnace was in reserve, taking into account the portfolio of orders and market conditions.
