Zaporizhstal Integrated Works took an award of all Ukrainian “Ecological quality and safety” contest in nomination “System approach to management and implementation of cleaner production technologies”. Contest results have been summarized on November 21 in the framework of “Green Mind” international forum.
The nominees were evaluated by a contest commission consisting of representatives of central authorities, expert and public organizations, led by the President of the Union of Environmental Auditors of Ukraine Svyatoslav Kurulenko. Experts noted an integrated approach to the implementation of modern environmental solutions at production, as well as the effectiveness of environmental protection measures of Zaporizhstal.
The works systematically implements environmental modernization projects since 2012. Zaporizhstal has sent more than 9 billion hryvnia green investment. The gas cleaning facilities of the sintering plant were completely reconstructed, the blast furnaces of the company were modernized, and a new pickling line was built. The plant continues to implement environmental protection measures aimed at reducing the impact on the environment.
