On the 18th of May, 2016, within the contest «We are the City», arranged by «Zaporizhstal» PJSC, online voting started for the projects which had been accepted for the contest semifinal. Upon the results of the online voting, a «National Project» will be chosen which will get some additional points to the general mark given by the expert council.
The online voting is held on the site of the contest «We are the City» https://www.wearecity.zp.ua, where each citi-zen is able to choose the best, in his judgement, project among other semifinalists. Voting will be held until the end of May. Due to the online voting, all the active citizens will actually be included in the expert council member-ship.
Let’s remind you that from the 1st of May, 2016, the second stage of the contest had started. On the 16th of May, the proceedings of the expert council was held, in the course of which 71 projects – semifinalists – were chosen out of 254 applications submitted to the contest. Among those projects there are as follows: children’s, sports and entertainment grounds, grounds for Street Workout, bicycle parking facilities, creation of the parking areas, planting, different festivals and family celebrations as well as the projects aimed at children with special needs, projects for energy saving and thermal insulation of houses, for creation of ecological routs (in Khortitsa island and Dnieper river), for arranging the children’s family-type homes, for opening the tele-school and for many oth-ers.
At the end of May, open project design reviews will be held, and the contest winners will be announced in July.
It is worthwhile noting that the Works annually increases financing of the contest. In 2016, the «We are the City» contest budget is increased up to UAH 2 million. The winners will receive grants, for development and implemen-tation of their ideas, in the amount of up to UAH 100 thousand.
