“Zaporizhstal”, in accordance with the program of technological modernization of production equipment, has launched into operation after overhaul blast furnace number 4. The investment amounted to about 100 million hryvnas.
Within 15 days of the overhaul, the bell less top replacement was completed, new heat exchangers and cooling staves were installed, the casting yard equipment mechanisms were repaired, the furnace refractory lining was fully restored.
In the course of the work, full maintenance of the aspiration of the casting yard and the bin ramp, as well as gas cleaning was carried out. After blowing the furnace, the aspiration and gas cleaning systems operate at the most productive parameters, in accordance with the norms of the Ukrainian legislation, – the concentration of dust at the outlet is up to 20 mg/m³.
Note that BF No. 4 is equipped with modern instrumentation that allows to automate the furnace as much as possible in accordance with the best international practices, the blast furnace capacity is 1.1 million tons of pig iron per year.
