Capital repair of sintering machine No.6 continued 40 days. Deputy Head of the Sintering Shop for mechanical equipment, Head of Capital Repair, Gennadiy Avtyushenko, was able to do everything in due time because of timely accomplishment of preparation jobs. All the required documents were prepared, the metal structures and spare parts were manufactured in full scale and good quality. The Chief Mechanic’s shops staff: foundry, mechanical, metal structure shop and metallurgical equipment repair shop No.1 successfully fulfilled their assignments. All in all they supplied 433.8 tons of different parts and structures to the sintering plant.
During capital repair the main jobs were fulfilled by contractors. The repairmen replaced the mixing drum, head and discharging part of the sintering machine, power and electrical communications, charging hearth and repaired the exhauster, gas pipeline and gas cleaning device. Under the supervision of the Works’ specialists they fulfilled other measures too, allowing to restore the workability of sintering machine No.6.
