Since September, 16 capital repair of mixer No.1 has been carried out in the open-hearth furnace shop. It was carried out by using the Works’ own resources without involving contractor organizations. Specialists from the open-hearth furnace shop, furnace maintenance shop, design engineering department, metallurgical equipment maintenance shop 1,2,4 and other divisions took part in the repair. All the participants of the repair have approached the performance of the tasks with great responsibility, providing qualitative and timely fulfillment of the planned works. The fire-resistant laying, the casing metal structures and the throat cover lifting mechanism have been completely replaced. Repair of the tilt drive and other units of the aggregate were also carried out. Special contribution to the repair was made by the collectives of the main mechanic department shops, providing production of required parts. Refractory specialists of furnace maintenance shop who, in spite of the busy schedule of servicing open-hearth furnaces, also kept the mixer laying schedule. Harmonious work of all the services has allowed accomplishment of capital repair before the planned term. On October, 29th the mixer was set for warming up, and on November, 4th at 21.30 it was filled with pig-iron from the blast furnace shop for averaging of its chemical composition.
